Ranthambore National Park lies next to the town of Sawai Madhopur in eastern Rajasthan. Hotels sit along Ranthambore Road between the town and the park gate, and the safari vehicle picks you up from there.

By train

The easiest way. Sawai Madhopur Junction (SWM) is on the main Delhi–Mumbai line, with many daily trains including fast superfast and Rajdhani services. It is also connected to Jaipur, Agra, Kota and many other cities.

  • From Delhi: around 5 to 6 hours
  • From Jaipur: around 2 to 3 hours
  • From Mumbai: overnight
  • The station is about 10 km from the park gate; hotels are 10 to 20 minutes away

By road

  • From Jaipur: about 160 km, 3 to 4 hours
  • From Delhi: about 5 to 6 hours via the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway
  • From Agra: about 5 hours
  • From Kota: about 2 hours

By air

The nearest major airport is Jaipur International Airport. From there, take a train from Jaipur or drive about three to four hours.

Getting to the safari

You do not need your own car for the safari: the Gypsy or Canter collects you from your hotel. For the fort or the Chambal, we arrange a cab.
