Pack smart
What to carry
- The same photo ID you booked with, for every guest
- Earth-coloured clothes: khaki, olive, brown or grey
- A warm layer, cap and gloves for winter mornings in an open vehicle
- A hat, sunscreen and water from April to June
- Binoculars and a camera with a zoom lens
- A scarf or mask for the dust on dry tracks
In the park
How to behave
- Stay seated and inside the vehicle at all times
- Keep your voice low, especially at a sighting
- Do not feed animals or throw anything from the vehicle
- Follow the forest guide; the guide’s word is final
- Drones, music and calls to animals are not allowed
- Carry your rubbish back out of the park
Seasons
When to visit
October and November are green after the rains. Winter brings cold mornings and misty lakes. From March the forest dries out, and in April to June animals gather near water, which makes for some of the best sightings of the year in spite of the heat.
