How it works

How Ranthambore advance booking works

The Rajasthan Forest Department releases safari permits for each quarter in one go, on the 1st of the month two months before the quarter begins, at 12:00 noon (IST). Gypsy seats for weekends, holidays and the lake zones often sell out within minutes. That is why we collect requests before the window opens and book them as soon as it does.

The Ranthambore advance booking calendar

1 November: safaris from 1 January to 31 March
1 February: safaris from 1 April to 30 June
1 May: safaris from 1 July to 30 September (monsoon: buffer zones only, if they open)
1 August: safaris from 1 October to 31 December

What we need from you

Your safari date and shift, and whether you want a Gypsy or a Canter
The number of Indian and foreign guests
For every guest: full name, age, gender, nationality and photo ID number. Carry the same ID to the gate.

Sending the guest details before opening day saves precious minutes at 12:00 noon. If your dates sell out in the advance quota, you can still try Tatkal and last-minute booking closer to the day. Read how booking works and the ID rules, or read the park overview on Wikipedia.

When does the next Ranthambore advance booking open?

On the 1st of February, May, August and November at 12:00 noon IST, each time for the quarter that starts two months later. The countdown at the top of this page always shows the next one.

Is pre-registering a confirmed booking?

No. It is a request. We try to book it the moment the window opens and tell you the result. Nothing is booked or charged until you confirm.

What if the window is already open?

Send your dates anyway. We check the remaining seats straight away and reply on call or WhatsApp.

Can I book closer to my safari date?

Yes, if seats are left in the advance quota. Otherwise, Tatkal and current booking release a few more seats close to the day.
