Twenty seats · open top · higher view
Canter safari
A twenty-seat open bus on the same forest tracks as the Gypsy. A higher view over the grass, and the easy choice for families and groups.
The ride
More seats, a higher view
A Canter seats twenty guests and drives the fixed route of the zone on the permit, with a forest guide on board.
A Canter is an open-sided bus built for the park. You sit higher than in a Gypsy, which helps you see over tall grass and into the nullahs along the track.
Canter seats are often easier to find at short notice, and they keep larger groups together in one vehicle.

Canter questions
Do Canters go to the same zones?
Canters drive the routes of the zones allotted to them by the forest department. The zone is printed on the permit.
Can we sit together?
Seats are allotted on the permit. Groups booked together usually sit together; tell us your group when you enquire.
Is a Canter good for children?
Yes. The higher seat and wider vehicle make it a comfortable first safari for children.
Where does the Canter pick us up?
Canter pickup points depend on the forest department’s schedule for the day. We confirm the pickup point and time the evening before.
